Plaza Kids Director

Plaza is looking for a dynamic and engaging leader to serve as our Plaza Kids Ministry Director. This role is vital for our church's mission to create a safe, nurturing, and Jesus-centered environment where kids (infants through 6th grade) can Meet Jesus and Make Friends. The ideal candidate is passionate about leading a team of volunteers to invest in the lives of the 80 kids we serve each week. The ideal candidate is also a natural encourager who builds trust with parents, helping them feel seen, supported, and thrilled to return.

Key Responsibilities

  • Vision & Leadership: Implement a comprehensive strategy for the Plaza Kids Ministry that aligns with the overall mission, vision, and values of the church. This includes creating and executing a vision for all Plaza Kids ministry environments and building a strong team culture among volunteers and leaders.

  • Volunteer & Team Development: Recruit, onboard, and develop a team of dedicated and passionate volunteers. This includes providing ongoing support, encouragement, and appreciation to foster a healthy and committed team environment.

  • Volunteer Coordination: Maintain a volunteer schedule that ensures full coverage each Sunday.

  • Programming: Plan, organize, and lead strategic engaging special events, such as Plaza Kids Week and Plaza in the Park.

  • Administration & Safety: Manage the Kids Ministry budget responsibly and maintain effective communication with key leaders, staff, volunteers, and parents. Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.

  • Reporting & Communication: This role reports to the Operations Director and will have scheduled check-in meetings.

Requirements

  • Possess strong relational capacity and a solution-oriented, positive attitude.

  • Has a natural gift for building genuine relationships with parents, helping them feel welcomed, valued, and supported.

  • Be an execution-oriented leader who can lead other leaders and volunteers.

  • Have exceptional organizational skills with a strong eye for detail.

  • Ability to work a set schedule, including Sunday mornings and attending services on key holidays, such as Easter and Christmas.

    • Monday: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM (in office)

    • Thursday: 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM (in office)

    • Sunday: 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM

  • Ability to work an additional 4-6 hours remotely each week for administrative and recruitment tasks, including initiating coffee and meals to encourage team members.
